Topic: Help me improving my fiat 600 d from 1970 - i wanted it powerfull

Hello,
I bought a fiat 600 d from 1970 and i'm restoring the car.
Well at the moment the engine is open to clean, change the oil pump, segments (STD) and i was thinking that theres probably lots of stuff that can be changed and improove my car.
Can anyone give me some tips and tell me brands or something so i can see where to find it in Portugal?
Let me know what i can change

You have probably learned by now that the only way to make a 600 faster is to put in a Fiat 850 or Autobianchi A112 engine.

at the moment i have the standart 600 block with a fiat uno 45 head and a 32 dmtr carb. i guess i'll upgrade for a fiat 127 903cc engine soon...

Hello alapimba , a good way is putting a 903 engine with a OMP exhaust and with yor 32 DMTR will be so fast !

You could also install a Fiat 124 twincam motor using the Abarth (or PBS) 1300/124 bellhousing adapter.  By using the twincam engine, you don't even have reverse the rotation.  I used to know an Abarth Berlina Corsa that had this engine in it.  The owner used to race it at autocross events, and the car was VERY VERY fast.  You would definitely need to do some serious suspension and brake upgrading with this engine setup.
