1300 Biposto - we try to find history of the car

The SE-018 Modell, which had already raced in 1969 in hill trials ( two were built) was presentet to the press in 1970 at the Turin Motor Show. as  sports prototype for the younger driver as alternativ to the SE-010 2 Liter series under the name of "CUNEO".

It was planned by Carlo Abarth to produce 50 of theses cars to form an own series. This did not materialise and today it appears that only 6 cars have survived one of which has been delivered as a to a two liter car and renumbered from SE018 to SE 010-0022. Today known chassis numbers ran from SE018-0011 to SE018-0016.
The sport spider used all the suspension parts of his bigger brother SE010 ( 2 Liters ) .

SE-018 has a 1300 OT engine fitted Engine No.098, which appears to be original with the Car.

History between 1970 and 1976 is at the moment unkwon.

The car was fitted with a sticker “ Elaborazioni Franz”. So in its early stages of his life it must have been run in Italy, Tirol or the Italian speaking part of Switzerland.
This is supported by a fire estinguisher, which was bought in Turin in 1970 and still is fitted to the car.

Since about 1976 the car was bought by Peter Kaus in Frankfurt and keept since then in his museum in Aschaffenburg.

Literature: Alfredo S. Cosentino FAZA/CAR Graphic Abarth Guide Tokyo1984 page 329.

Abarth 1949-1986 by Carlo SalazarISBN 88-7960-083-4 1986 Milano pages. 23,193 engine,  199, 204 and 208.

Catalogue RossoBianco Collection, Mike Riedener Besancon 1992 , page 218 illustrated the actual car.

Online buyer`s guide ba Pete Vack Oakton VA. 2000, page 110, where the actual car is illustrated wrongly described  as built 1967-1968 and with 2 Liter rear engine.

The car was with this stickers (badge):
