A112 water pump for F850 block
« on: November 28, 2005, 01:50:56 am »
Hi,

has anybody experience with installing A112 water pump onto a Fiat 850 engine block (GB)? I know that position of the mounting screws is different but my vision is to make an adapter to solve this problem and use an electric fan with reversed spin for radiator. This can make more space on the right side from the engine, for installing for example oil cooler.

Thanks to all of you for answers

Ejzy

Has anyone drawings for the adapter? I saw it on few F600/850 engines, but never found any picture of the adapter.

Thank you

Hello ejzy (no name and location in your profile ?),
why do you not take an electric waterpump to your engine ? In your case, if you take an electric fan for the radiator cooling an not the bd-waterpump-fan ,so you can take an very good electric-waterpump (EWP) from ISA-Racing (see page 221 in the 2006-catalog, or on www.isa-racing.de [nofollow]) You can get an adapter to fit this EWP to your block by Andre van Koeveringen, Bergen op Zoom/NL (aneko.home@hetnet.nl). He produces perfect adapters to fit the EWP to the Fiat 850-1000 block.   Many of our members in the COPPA-MILLE need this EWP and the adapter from Andre.

With best regards

I like this Kleber guy, but Greg Schmit's book has a template of the adaptor you want.
What can I test for you?

Hi All

The adapter is not hard to make for this water pump conversion.

Klaus is right.  In 2001 I think Scuderia Topolino was one of the only ones using this system, and now nearly EVERY competitor in the Coppa Mille uses it.  On well, one advantage gone.  We pioneered the use of the EWP electric water pump on rear engined Fiats way back in 2001.  They do work great.   Not a cheap solution, but a very good one. Scuderia Topolino also sells this system.

Another elegant way to solve the problem would be to use one of the PBS 'shorty' mechanical pumps.  This pump can run either direction and uses up very little space.  It  is available from Scuderia Topolino.

Kind regards,
