ok... so there was a batch of factory 127 abarth for motorsport... what were the caracteristics of these cars? that's what i'm interested in...

what engine did they have? pushrod?(ohv), ohc?
were the brakes stock ? the sport used 128 calipers, what did the abarth use?, rear drums? rear discs?
4speed? 5 speed? mk3 chassis leg?

i'm asking this because i know of a car that is suposed to be an 127 abarth, it has a 5spd gearbox, 1050 pushrod type engine, 4 wheel disk brakes, servo, and a mk3 style chassis leg, the car is said to be from 1984

i have a question... i've assembled a heavy modified 903 engine, with a1127 70hp cam and bigger intake valves (30,5mm) the engine breathes thru a DMTR32/34, what should the jetting be? i'm getting 5.5 liters/100kms with a light foot wich is briliant for a heavy modded engine, but i cant get the car to max out in 4th, it gets to around 6000 but it wont go thurther

the engine has .6 oversize pistons, lightened crank, flywheel, weight matched rods and pistons, cut valve guides, the bottom end is balanced to 2.5ยบ, got the oil cooler in there, it really starts to pull at around 3500 to 4000 and it's all go, but could it be tweaked to perfection?

the gearbox is a 127 mk3 unit

uhmmm did they exist from the factory or were they aftermarket kits?

the 1049cc brazilian engined 127 was called SPORT not ABARTH

On the normal versions of fiat 127 mk2, werw mounted 3 types of engine: 100GL.000 (903 cc), 127A1 (1049 cc, 50 hp) and 127A2 (1049 cc, 70 hp), dedicated to 127 Sport 78/81.
On the 127 mk3, the type engine 127A2, was replaced by the new 127A3 (1301 cc, 75 hp) which toghether the previous 127A1 and 127A2, make the family of brasilian engines but may be attention: 127A3 is not the same motor of Ritmo 70/75.
Seat 127 Abarth mounts only Abarth engines, which come from 100GL with chain distribution. These ones, we find it only in mk1 and mk2 and were mounted in this order:
Seat 127 Abarth mk1 (kit)  903 cc, 54 HP, 100GL.000 engine (also available for Italian version);
Seat 127 Abarth mk2 (kit)  982 cc, 58 HP, 100GL engine, type A112A1000, 4 speed gearbox;
Seat 127 Abarth mk2 (kit) 1049cc, 70 HP, 100GL engine, type A112A2000, 5 speed gearbox.
During production, last 2 engines I wrote, loose the code 100GL and are named only A112A1000 and A112A2000.
Another curiosity, so I close my answer: there is also a German version of fiat 127 mk1 Abarth with a 850 cc engines, maded to be a no tax car, but is 45 HP like the 903.
