I'm looking for a pair (1 left side & 1 right side) of new or very good used condition Carello taillight lenses for the 1956-60 European Fiat 600 (not the 600D!!!). These lenses have an orange (amber) upper half & a red lower half, with a thin metal strip going across horizontally between the two colors.
I don't have the Fiat part number or the Carello lens number, but they look like this:

I have the taillight housings already, just need the lenses. I bought a pair of reproduction European lenses, only to find out that they don't have the alloy strip across the center, nor any provision (groove) in the lens for it.
Thanks,

Hello Jeff,
Ritz Handels www.FiatClassic.com in their 600 on line catalogue list in the electrics section a 600 series ii and Multuipla taillight lens at euro 85.00 The catalogue has a photo which shows a chrome cross strip to the lens, though the photo tends to convey a narrower bottom to the lens than your photo. Good luck Regards Trevor

Thanks, Trevor. I'll have to take a look at that catalog in a minute. The lens you described with the narrower bottom part was used on some of the Fiat 500 cars. Not sure if they were used on the 600, but the lenses are obviously different compared side-by-side. I've noticed a few eBay sellers offering these, one guy even had one lens of each type in the same photo, oblivious that they weren't the same. Gotta be careful on buying stuff nowadays! ;)

I took a look at what was being offered on that website. The tapered-bottom lens offered for the Fiat 600 is indeed not correct (parts listing-wise), as that is actually for an early Fiat 500 Nuova. Ironically, the photo of the taillight lens in the Fiat 500 Nuova section looks like the Fiat 600 lens, which is an aftermarket lens like I already have (without the metal strip in the center). Maybe they got the photos backwards?
For example:
Their Fiat 500 Nuova type lens stated as being for the Fiat 600:

Unfortunately, neither one of these is what I'm after. :(

Are you sure they were amber/red & Carello? There were some all-red Altissimo lenses like these listed on Italian eBay...I just bought them earlier this evening for a friend's car. They were 24.99Euro for a pair, but were missing the alloy strip from them (that is, they were the correct lens type, but someone had removed the alloy strips from them). Luckily I saved the metal bits from some old cracked lenses I had, so it's not an issue for these. ;)

Aha again you are onto it.I definetely bought carello, with ally trim !,NOS but all red and no amber.
If i see some in melb i will pass on the sellers details. You know they are lying around 'somewhere'.

A few sellers have them listed on eBay, they come up every now & then.
I should note that the bi-color lenses I'm seeking can be either Carello or Altissimo brand, though I'd prefer Carello, if possible (to match my cars' front turn lights & headlights).

I found a pair of NOS ones yesterday while sorting through my boxes of parts and stuff. These are the all red ones though. While both are Altissimo, the lens configuration is very slightly different, plus one is missing the screws. If J.S. would like them, he gets first dibs, but otherwise, anyone who is interested can send me a message. I also have a pair of new gaskets for the housings available.

Thanks for the offer, Gil, but I'll have to pass on your all-red lenses. I already have 2-3 sets of these. I have some no-name aftermarket orange/red lenses for now, but it's the orange/red Carello's I'm really after, with the Altissimo's being my second choice.
