Title: Cooling system
Post by: zippyfiat on January 09, 2007, 03:23:48 pm
I now have a genuine 1300/124.  It needs MAJOR restoration since the body has a lot of bad rust.

I have been thinking about upgrading the motor to 1608cc using the 1438cc pushrod block with a 124 1608TC crank.  Does anyone know if I would run into cooling problems with the stock 1300/124 radiator?

Thanks,
Gil

Gil,
The radiator size / effectiveness you will need depends on the horsepower output of the engine, so you may need a more effective one.
Sometimes you can just get a new core made that has more cooling tubes in it and get more cooling from the same size radiator.
