Hi, Guy,
Is this Simca Abarth 2000 still for sale?
What about the yellow round-tail next to it? I think it was there when I visited just before SpaItalia.
Thanks,
Jim Oddie

Hello Guy, what a fantastic job on this 2 litre Simca Abarth. I know it's some time since the car was sold, but how close was the performance with your installation to that of the original Abarth unit in this car?
My interest in Simcas stems from the fact that I founded the current Simca Club UK back in 1981 although I have been associated with the UK Simca enthusiasts since 1968
Best wishes to all Abarth enthusiasts,

Hello Guy and thank you for responding to my question. I understand what you say about your own installation, using more modern techniques also assists in obtaining more power from the given engine.
Just as a small matter of interest, and I understand that my own car is insignificant to the topics displayed here on your web site, I have a 1973 Simca 1501 into which I have installed a Fiat 2 litre unit with twin 40 Dellortos, 132 5 speed gearbox and rear axle from an '81 Argenta. This was nearly 15 years ago but I still have the car and I suppose it is quite a rare machine. Because it is a fairly light weight car to begin with, the extra power does make alot of difference as you will understand.
Since I was a teenager (1960's) I have always been interested in the Fiat/Alfa/Lancia twin cam unit and the rare Abarth power units and cars to which these units were fitted. I came across your abarth-gmr.be site because of a link mentioned in my club newsletter. What an interesting web site it is!
My best wishes to you, your team and all enthusiasts.
Bob Friendship
