A couple pictures of my toy.
« on: September 06, 2005, 09:22:34 am »
I have owned her for almost 15 years now since I was 16 and I've loved no car more than her....

Currently updating the rear brakes to discs and the axles/flex joints to CV units which will be nice!  Plan to do the independent front suspension this winter along with coil-overs in the rear to bring the handling to an even higher level....It has a full cage, aluminum panel interior, front discs, front radiator, PBS water pump, gear drive timing which gives it a neat whine (instead of belt or chain), ported and polished head, etc, etc, etc.  What do you think?

Very nice!  I have not seen a front rad. tratment like that before.  Did you do all the work yourself?  What are you doing for the axles?  Are you buying them somewhere?  What have you got for an engine, and what other modifications have been done to the car?

Thanks Gil.  The nose is a little different, but worked out well.  This was done before I had bought it when I was 16, as well as the cage.

The axles are outer CV units that I purchased from Paul at http://scuderiatopolino.com/English%20Parts%20Shop%20site.htm [nofollow]

The engine is a warmed up 903.  Big cam and a mild port/polished head.  I'll probably add a PBS 8 port head this winter for a bit more hp.

As for other modifications, I plan on going with the independent front setup from the link above, along with the coilovers for the rear.  Should be a really nice handling ride after all that.

Nice car!  I'm restoring my 500 over the winter. I'm always looking for a 600 to make into a TC replica, someday. What kind of wheels are those?

The wheels are just stock steel wheels that had been widened.  Planning to get some new/better wheels this winter.

What kind of setup is that for your generator bracket?  I don't think I have seen that before.  The alternator doesn't seem to be in the normal location.  What have you got for a water pump?  Have you got a single belt for pump/alt./crank?

Why not drop in a 74mm crank for more power and torque?  That's what I am doing.  I've heard the torque increase is very noticeable.

Not a fiat alternator...Actually GM. :)

Water pump is a PBS unit.  Single belt.

Yup, I plan to build another motor sometime soon and will definately go with a longer stroke.

Oh, it is at the top of my list now to get good or proper wheels.  Do you have any wheels to offer?
