New 1967 Fiat 850 Spyder owner
« on: August 11, 2016, 07:51:45 am »
Hello from Houston. I recently acquired a 1967 850 Spyder project and a truck (pick-up truck) load of 850 Spyder parts. The engine has been taken apart and needs to be rebuilt. This is a USA market car so I suspect the engine is the 817 cc not the 848 cc . I want to know what can I do to increase displacement and power without going crazy.
Thank You

Hello Houston! 1967 should be a 843cc(100gs000 engine)does it have the covered headlights? ( very coveted ) Preformance wise a 903cc or 1040 engine will bolt in with very little modifications. They respond well to increased compression, bigger valves, cam, carburation , exhaust etc. Fun to drive! They runs on revs. HTH, Chuck
