Abarth Paint codes
« on: February 17, 2014, 06:32:17 am »
Hi All!
Trying to find the original "Abarth" Grey paint code for a 850tc replica ready to paint and later my OT2000 replica, the closest I have come is the new 2010 ->Fiat 695 Abarth Grey called - Grigio Nuvolari 672/B ......
The red colour code ,used for the side stripe also would be handy!!

Also a nice car this 600, Rubin, but I can't tell you what colors abarth was using on his car.
In the backround of the photo I see a nice 850 coupé.

Hello Rubin,

The color of my OT1600 is an original color for the Fiat 850 in the sixties.
Sabbia beige 583 and it's also used by Lada!!

You're going to make a OT2000 and they were white. you can see that on a photo of the Japanese collector of abarth.
They are standing next to eachother, the OT1600 and OT2000

Looking at the interieur of your 850TC, I would choose the bleu color allready on the car. That is looking great too!!!
A frind of mine had an 850TC replica and made the color himself. Unfortunetely I cannot ask him what he did with the color he passed away 10 years ago.

Good luck with finding or making the color for the 850TC!!!!

Groet,
Fred

Thanks Fred, I did not know both Ot1600 and 2000Mostra were white, most famous Abarths thought were grey. You like the blue on the 850tc? ok would you do a red stripe down the side with red checker roof?...or just the blue on it's own?

I think the red stripe will do great on the blue color. Look at the red sticker on the frontwindow of your TC!
Also a red checker roof will do pretty good on the car.

I personal think that there are to many grey replica's. I do understand that it was the color for Abarth, but only he was near by an airbase of the military with his company!
That's were he got the paint from, is the story!!

There was also one red OT1600, owned by Greg Paris in the USA.
And I've seen original photo's of an OT1600 that was dark colored(black/white photo), so I think there was really a red one.

Wow thanks Fred, my 850 sedan is dark Red now , is there any photo's of Mr Paris OT?  sounds good to do a Red OT Mostra ,with a white stripe? silver stripe? .....do you really think a Red stripe and checker roof on a Blue 850tc car is ok, not over the top?

I don't think it will be over the top, but it's your choice how you will paint the TC!!!!

Somewhere I must have a picture of the OT1600, but where?????
It was a red one with no stripe at the side of the car but with two white stripes across the front boot, roof and back.
just like the Renault 8 gordini's!
But still I like the idea of a red OT Mostra. Why not!!

Maybe this will inspire you for your 850TC!
Imagine your blue and the red stripe en checker roof. Too much?? I don't think so!

Ok yes I am inspired and not that I am lazy and don't want to completely strip the 'TC' to change colour, but that does look good, ....suit a '61 suicide door car Fred?
..and a Red Mostra that would be different!

Hello Rubin,

I think it will suite the '61 Fiat great.
And it's easier to paint the car in the same color!

And you will do the red Mostra??

Groet,
Fred

The colors on Fred's picture look great on '61 Abarth.

Al Constantino's Abarth was also in blue

I believe the car you're referring to was red with a single pale yellow stripe down the center of the car - maybe this car?:
