comments on this TCR for sale at Fantasy Junction?
« on: December 09, 2012, 05:56:14 am »
I happened to see this TCR for sale by Fantasy Junction. For those of you in Europe, FJ is a dealer in high-end exotics and racers in California.

The ad says it has a TCR head but gives an A112 engine block number and the filter is on the left side in A112 position.  The car has the pendolare rear suspension, so it must have raced seriously at some point in its life, but it now has modern gauges.

Anyone know the car or have comments?

Hi Pantdino (Jim?)

Thanks for the post, it's always nice to keep tabs on Abarths for sale over the world. This car is familiar to us, we all had words about it back in 2010 when it popped up for sale on ebay. You can follow our comments and eventual determination here:

One wonders if it ever sold then. Is it the same person trying to sell it again?

Cheers, Toby

Maybe FJ read Paul's post-- they're asking $89K for it. Considering that collector cars have appreciated since then the price is not wildly out of line.

TCR head or not, I don't think I'd be interested in selling my 850 TC replica to buy it.  It's a full bore race car, and there is no class I know of in vintage racing around me in which it would be competitive.
