Fiat Abarth 1000 OT Coupe '65 restoration
« on: December 19, 2016, 12:12:05 pm »
Hi all !
My name Is Loïc, 20yo from France ! It it makes two years that I drive my Fiat 850 Coupe Sport, I saved a genuine Abarth 1000 OT coupe from the grave last summer.
This car has been sitting there for the last 17 years and there is a lot of work to accomplish on it before getting back on the road.
It was the first car of a woman who kept it for 30 years in Paris but she has been scammed by two well known rally drivers who let the car in a graveyard.

Now, the car is out of trees and I started the restoration by getting the engine out and... This is a standard 843cc engine, proving that the car has lost its original engine.
(if someone knows an ot 1000 engine for sale...)

Now, I am waiting for the car to be in her future bedroom to start the hard work !

Nice find!
S1 coupe makes a beautiful restoration.
How can you tell the car is original Abarth OT and not just some badges?
