Hi from New Zealand
« on: November 13, 2010, 07:55:37 am »
First great forum, looks to be a wealth of information on here and guys that might be able to help me with my future quest ;)

I learnt to drive in a Fiat 850 coupe but for the past 20 years have been driving Japanese cars/sports car (I have raced 2 x Datsun 240z over the years). Anyway our local classic racing rules permit the building of period replica's if documentation is around to prove such a car did run with the setup I build to.

I would love to race something different there are just too many Escorts and MG's in the local classes and they don't like Datsun 240z (well new ones joining the series). There is a few Fiat 124's and 131's running but again I would want something different. So this got me thinking about the Fiat 850 coupe I learnt to drive in.

A few quick googles and I found this forum were I have lurked for a while for before signing up today.

Ideally I would love to build up a Abarth OT 2000 replica and race that.

Anyway I still have to complete my restoration/rebuild of my current project car - sorry guys a Datsun 260z 2 seater it was the first Datsun zed car I purchased and I don't think I will ever sell it. But once this is complete I will start the hunt for a Fiat 850 coupe to begin the next project ;)

regards
