Hello,

Congratulation, Guy, for that courageous & ambitious initiative !
Almost all Fiat 130 and Fiat 130 Coupé owners are in search for "the real thing" when speaking about engine and performance !
The Fiat 130 is more than 1,600 Kg.
The 165 CV DIN provided by the "B" type 3,235 cc engine are on the low side compared with Jags and so on.

With the V6 Abarth 3500 engine, what are the expected power and torque figures ?

Will you support us in mounting the V6 Abarth 3500 engine in our Fiat 130 cars and let them get a MOT certificate ?
How can this be done in your country ?
Can you help ?

Can you provide info about the exact configuration of the V6 Abarth 3500 engine.
I have found some info in newbielink:http://www.fiat130coupe.com [nonactive] namely the page newbielink:http://www.fiat130coupe.com/moteur_ [nonactive]évolutions.html
Quite an interesting website with alot of new in-depth analysis about the Fiat 130, other Fiat cars, and the F.I.A.T. strategy and situation back in these years..

Will the V6 Abarth 3500 have the "C" type air intake described in newbielink:http://www.fiat130coupe.com [nonactive] ?
Will it have three Weber 40 DCNF on top ? Do you know the jetting ? Available ?
Does it retain the standard head with the in-line 2 valves layout dating back from 1957 (wedge-shaped combustion chambers) ?
To me it seems that the maximum allowable bore was already attained with the "B" type engine of 3.235 cc (bore = 102 mm), so can you confirm the increase in displacement was obtained by increasing the stroke (maybe 71mm stroke on V6 Abarth instead of 66 mm stroke on "B" type) ... so the need for a new (& expensive) main shaft providing this ... ? Really available ? Or genuine historic star "one-off" ?
Same camshaft as "B" type engine ?
Same valves ?
Same pistons ?
Compression ratio ?
Ignition timing ?

What about driveability ?

In the newbielink:http://www.fiat130coupe.com [nonactive] website, there is an interesting point of view being launched, namely that the "130" engine never got developped as such, claiming that the "130" engine only was a 1.2 up-scale from the "128" engine.
Take the 4 cylinders of the "128" engine, take a rubber and eliminate 1 cylinder, multiply all dimensions by 1.2, then marry two banks at 60 degrees ... you get the  "130" engine.
Quite a statement !
You, GMR, being "the" expert and having maybe access to inside info at Fiat Torino, can you, will you agree in this ?

Regards,
Steph
