Abarth 1000 TCR
« on: December 12, 2008, 04:22:52 pm »
Hi,

I'm new in forum and I'm looking for a original 1000 TCR (preference 1970) or a very good remake to Classic events. If any one know the contact of the Klaus Kleber, I would like to speak with him.

Regards to all,

Mário Melo.

Hi Mario,

Welcome on the abarth-gmr-forum.

If you browse the members, you will see that Klaus is also on this forum.
He even has his own board with the coppa mille:

Mario,

Paul Heyden knows all the Coppa Mille racers and found my 1000TC replica for me

his email is:

pheyden@ieee.org

He runs Scuderia Topolino,    www.scuderiatopolino.com, which supplies lots of parts for 1000TC racers

You could also check with Tony at the Middle Barton Garage.  If I recall correctly he had an original 1000 TCR for sale last year and may still have it.
Asking price was GBP 45K.

here's a link to the MBG:  http://www.racecar.co.uk/mbg/galleryset.htm

You could also check with Tony Berni at Bernimotori in Italy:

bernimotori@yahoo.it

I believe his car is a TCR and he might know of one or a replica for sale.

Hi, all

I already spoke with most of these guys, but they didn't have any car that match what I want. I would like an original most and to be a remake must include all the right stuff. The MBG would do a very good remake but a proibitive price. The Paul Heyden is a very nice person and the litle I kwon is most front him and is site is great with a lot of technical information.

Regards,

MM.

Have you spoken with or emailed Paul Heyden?

He's your best hope of finding a car for sale.
You're right-- having someone make a replica from a Fiat 600 or Zastava or whatever would be very expensive.

My car was 12,150 Euros and Paul found a TCR replica with the wide rear fenders for someone else at a similar price.

What parts must the car have for you to want it?  Most (like mine) will have the double A-arm front suspension and an Autobianchi A112 1050 motor.  Few people run a TCR motor these days.  When I was at the Coppa Mille race at the Nurburgring in 2007 Herr Köster told us he had an A112 motor he was going to install after that race just because the TCR motor was so valuable.

I'm going to send you a personal message with Paul's cell (mobile) number.

Jim

You should also check ebay frequently-- especially ebay Italy

when I was looking there was this car shown below for sale for 20K Euros that appeared to have been an original 1000TC

There was another car that had just been restored that the seller was claiming had a race history for 50K Euros as I recall.  It had the Pendolare rear suspension.  (The car that MBG had for sale did not.)
