What a cool find, looks like the real deal from here.  Looks like a 124 pushrod engine, is that what the OT 1600 had?

The car looks great but is not an original Abarth. All of the cars are accounted for in collections. The motor pictured is a fiat 124 motor not an Abarth motor, they look nothing alike.
Still,i wouldn't kick it out of my garage.Lots of potential.

it looks like a car build by FAZA ?
they made also rectangular crossbars??
the rear panel is also a bit strange, i have never seen a panel like that.
the original engine is derived from the abarth/simca 1300 (twin-cam) and looks the same as the 1300 and 2000 cc engines in the OT models.
al other things look verry original and is great fun to rebuild!!

The square-tube engine mount/crossbrace is similar to the old PBS Engineering unit. A long time ago they made a kit to fit the Fiat 124 pushrod/OHV engine into the 850 chassis - this may be what is in this car. PBS also made an alloy transmission bellhousing (adapter) similar to the Abarth 1300/124 bellhousing.

The rear panel on this car is like on the OT2000 "Mostra" (2 Mila) Sedan, with the large bulge in the center. The engine has a dual-carb manifold like on the Abarth 1300 Scorpione.

This car does have what look to be a few original OT1600 parts on it, ie: front grille, dashboard gauge unit, steering wheel & front seats. I can't see the wheels clearly enough to tell if they're original Campagnolo Abarth or repro's(?). I'd be eager to see what the front/rear suspension on this car looks like...might give a bit more insight.

I do recall Cosentino lending the 2 litre motor out of his mostro to someone and they blew it up.So we may be lead to think this IS the same car.The rear panel protrusion was to make clearance for  the dissy.
That said,Kosaka in Japan has the only 2000 berlina,right ? (4 others were 1600cc ?)
Anyway,if its for sale ? i would buy it.It does look to have many unique original parts.

Scare your neihbours with it.

Hi,
In the link from Guy there are some pictures of the brakes/suspension and you can just make out what looks to be a leaf spring front end.The rear end looks to be std 850 trailing arms with an extra shock added inside the coil spring (600 style?). I thought all of these had the double a-arm suspension front and rear??Still a great looking car that someone spent alot of time and care making.

Cheers,Toby.
