Abarth 750 Berlina website
« on: May 29, 2008, 02:12:51 am »
I had a few hours to kill this afternoon, so I threw together a little "Abarth 750 Berlina" website. I'll be adding more stuff in the next week or so whenever I get the chance. If you have any photos/comments you'd like to share, please feel free to let me know! ;)

Check it out at: http://home.earthlink.net/~abarth750

Cheers,

I like it-- early 750 info is scarce, and now you have it all in one place.  I'll be checking it out as it grows, and will contribute if I run across anything.

Am I supposed to be able to see photos when I click on the Car Gallery Racing 750's?

Yes, both the Car Gallery & Racing 750's pages are all photos (I haven't written/added any text yet). I just checked both pages & all photos are showing up & are expandable, as intended. I've noticed that the photos are a bit slow to load at times, so maybe that's what you encountered?

The ISP-furnished site-building software I used may also be causing slow page-loading. It's simple-to-use, but not very efficient. I will be doing some page/photo tweaks later this weekend to hopefully improve that. ;)

I didn't have as much free time this week as I thought I would, so I haven't had a chance to sit down & do much of any updates of the site material (i.e. - still no text!). However, I did manage to reformat the photos into a separate smaller thumbnail size to make each page load faster when opened for viewing. Every photo can also be clicked on now to open a larger size photo in a new browser window.

I also added another car to the Gallery, a sort of "In Memory Of..." toast to a rusted-out 1958 USA-version 750 Berlina that has since donated what was left of its' Abarth bits to my own current Abarth 750 Trasformabile project car. ;)

Hopefully, I'll have some free time this weekend to breathe a little more life into the website. ;D

Cheers,
 -JS.

I'm interested in 750 berlinas.

I have to agree that I did not spend much time in reading about those cars. But where do I get basic information about the chances that make a Fiat 600 derivazione 750 Abarth from a standard Fiat 600?

Has there been a "cassetta trasformazione" similarily to the cassetta for the Fiat 500?
What parts where in it?
Are there instructions what chances had to be made?
I'm looking for original Abarth parts for my Fiat 500 and Fiat 600 (want to build a derivazione 750).

please email me, if you want to sale... Thank you!

Hi JS(viotti600)
I have just picked up a "Barn find" 1958 or 59 Fiat 600 (unknown year to me), but as it is an early car, doing a 850tc would be wrong?, so come across your web page on 750's, is there anymore info' to come? is there a place to get help on an older type 600 replica?
maybe Guy? can you tell me if it is a 58 or 59 and what to look at to tell? were 850tc made earlyer than 1959? and what gear did they have and look like ?.........anyone help?
Cheers, Rubino

Thanks Guy, it was licenced here for the first time in 1959, but being in Australia at that time ,that could have taken 1 to 2 years to get here and by licenced. I will look at the glass to find out!
