2008 - 12-> 20 July: Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (USA)
« on: December 07, 2007, 02:57:49 pm »
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is pleased to announce that our 2008 Marque of the Year will be "All Italian Cars"

Italian cars are all so “magnifico” that it was just too difficult to select any single manufacturer to honor so we decided to invite them all to our celebration. Standard bearers like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, and Maserati will be there as well as race representatives from Abarth, Pantera, OSCA, Bandini and Stangueillini. But we want YOU and YOUR Fiat and Lancia too!

The Italian Marque of the Year Car Show at Schenley Park on the July 19-20 weekend is open to any Italian car owner, all clubs welcome, any year car is eligible. Join us for one of the best Italian parties of the year.
$125 per car entitles you to:
- A parking spot on the fairway alongside the Italian Marque of the Year Tent all weekend
- Italian style lunch for two on both Saturday and Sunday
- Complimentary dash plaque, poster and race program
- Parade lap of the racetrack in our Marque of the Year Parade on Sunday at 10:30 AM
- Special guests and exhibits (more details to follow)
- There is no judging – just an enjoyable weekend watching vintage Italian, and European, sports cars race through the Park.
- Optional dinner on Saturday night at Start/Finish with vintage race drivers & volunteers - $25 per person

The Grand Prix is now a 10-day festival of motorsport events, many will have special activities for Italian cars. Check out our 2008 Marque Schedule <http://www.pvgp.org/674610814132427750/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=53163> .

Starting out as a one-day race in 1983, the PVGP has grown into to 10-day festival of car shows, motorsport events and auto races. With 250,000 spectators, the Grand Prix is the nation's largest vintage race event and the only one held on city streets. This event is possible because of 1,200 dedicated volunteers who give their time unselfishly each year

Please visit our website www.pvgp.org for information and photos from our event. Details on Marque activities can be found at www.pvgp.org/674610814132427750/site/default.asp.

We're hoping that we can get a strong showing by Alfa Romeo owners at the event. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Arrivederci!

If you have never been to the Museum it is well worth the trip as it is truly a showcase of Victorian Architecture.

Once we have this information it will be submitted to the Walnut Street Invitational Car Show committee and you could be selected to participate in that event for no additional fee! It’s pretty prestigious and only 125 cars are selected each year.
