Instrument housing paint color/type?
« on: October 16, 2007, 04:41:48 am »
Can anyone tell me what type of paint was used on the later style Abarth of instrument (gauge) housing for the 3 gauges?  Was black crinkle finish paint used, or was it just flat black?  I have an aluminum housing to paint and would like it to look original.

Thanks,
Gil

To answer that you would have to find an original housing that you were SURE had never been repainted.
Black crinkle paint was very popular in the 60's and was felt to be an upmarket finish.
I think it is very unlikely Abarth would have just used black paint when for a few more cents he could have a much nicer looking and more appealing product.

The only real one I've seen had black crinkle
What can I test for you?
