1962 Simca Bertone 1000 - were they ever rally cars ?

(1/2) > >>

DaveA:
Hi

I was talking to my friend today and he has one in his garage with no motor ,

I found these  pictures on the web,
http://www.highwayone.com/Classifieds/Simca/99laae.html
its this style , but this is NOT the car ,

His is a 1962 , sitting for over 20 years,

were these ever rallye cars ?
is there a  better motor to put it in ?

Any photos , of one in rallye trim ?

Thanks for the info

Dave

anyone want to trade it for some  600 based Abarth parts ?

Its in California

biketesting:
These cars are very rare. The 1000 Simca was used as a basis for all of the Abarth 1300-2000 Simca motors. My guess is these are expensive options to modify this car with. Gordini also made some parts and motors for these.

DaveA:
The problem is that right now there is NO motor ,

He threw it away 20 years ago, was planning on putting a VW motor in it ,

He never did , and its been sitting ever  20 years
