Fiat 131 Circuit of Munster (Ireland)
« on: November 11, 2006, 11:06:52 am »
Greetings from Ireland.

A group of Fiat 131 fans from UK and Ireland are organising the first ever Fiat 131 rally open to owners of all versions of the car. It will be held over the weekend of 19/20 May 2007 in the South West of Ireland. The logical port of entry for continental visitors is Rosslare (Cherbourg - France or Fishguard - UK).

The event will be mostly driving with a route designed to take in some of the spectacular Atlantic coastline and mountain passes. The highlight will be a massive gathering of Mirafioris probably in Killarney on the Sunday (20th) where we will attempt a new record of 131s in the same place. A dedicated website will be set up shortly where you can register your interest and get regular updates.

For now here is a taster of what we achieved with a little planning in March of this year. Also is a photo of the Healy Pass in Co Cork where those with rear wheel disc conversions will appreciate the improvement made to their braking system!

Greetings all fellow Fiat/Abarth fans.

We are now much closer to finalising all details, with hotel and ferry bookings now made for all of our foreign visitors. So far the furthest travellers are from Stuttgart and Mulhouse (France).

There will be two convoys coming to Ireland (Europe and UK) all planning to meet on 18th May 2007.

From there it will be 4 days of pleasant driving with fellow Fiat 131 fans along some of the most spectacular of Ireland's Atlantic coastine  and mountain passes. We will stay each night in the Killarney Heights hotel with different driving events each day. The main event is the MAXIMUM MIRAFIORI MOBILISATION (3MA) ON 20TH May at the hotel car park. Most peopel are returning home on Tuesday 22nd May but of course you could stay longer if you wish.

If anyone is thinking of coming but is not sure what to do, please send me an e-mail and I will answer your questions as quickly as I can. For European visistors you may if you wish meet up with the drivers from Germany & France - See this thread for details.

The event is now over and represented one of the best weekends in our lives - Everyone who attended went home smiling ear to ear with plans for 2008 and 2009 (35th anniversary of the Fiat 131) already being formulated.

In total 15 Mirafioris turned up from all over western europe and reports are beginning to appear on the official website.

The event is already on Youtube for moving pics - Enjoy.
